A public meeting was held on February 27, 2020, at the Camp Verde Middle School Cafeteria for any residents and stakeholders who wanted to discuss and provide feedback on the Camp Verde trail planning process.
A trails public outreach survey was developed by the class and made available online using the SurveyMonkey platform (www.surveymonkey.com/r/CampVerdeTrails). A contact list of stakeholders and agencies was also developed as well as a flyer which was mailed or emailed to the contact list. To advertise the public meeting, a flyer was created with all the details. The flyer was emailed and mailed to over eighty contacts, including multiple community organizations. A survey was also created and a link was included in the flyer. Camp Verde also sent two email blasts about the survey out through their town e-newsletter, which has over 1,000 subscribers as well as shared the survey on multiple Facebook groups. Approximately 57 members of the public came to the meeting. The class received many comments at the meeting and over 79 participants completed the survey. See more details in the Public Outreach Report. Students, Adrian being one of them, were stationed throughout the room to engage with community members, answer questions, and solicit any feedback related to the trail plan. After the presentations, participants were invited to visit one of several stations that contained maps, visioning boards, and trail surveys, offering the attendees the opportunity to provide their feedback on trail routes, infrastructure, amenities, and overall sentiment of trail improvements. |
